South Forbes Chateaux de Paris

Chateaux de Paris’ original trio presented a taste of three French design styles in three different homes: the classical Chambord, the contemporary Chantilly, and the moderne Fontainebleau — each with its unique layout to match the varying preferences of different people. We introduce three new model houses: Louvre, Clermont and Lafayette. The homes were inspired by the grandeur of the lovely city of Paris.

Chambord House Model

Chambord

Description:

Chambord, the first of the model chateaus, takes its inspiration from the loveliest and grandest of the Renaissance buildings in France's Valley of Loire—Chateau de Chambord. This sumptuous palace was inspired by the great Leonardo da Vinci, who was said to have added his own embellishments to the chateau's façade and interiors.

South Forbes' Chambord brings this treasure to the 21st century. The classical rendition of the South Forbes French chateau moves away from the heavy-handed baroque decorations. The result is a modern interpretation of the classics that still has strong ties to tradition and style.

Chantilly

Description:

Chantilly. The very name evokes charm, elegant details, and all things pretty. A commune in the metropolitan area of Paris, Chantilly forms an urban section together with six neighboring communes. This locale is a satellite city of Paris. The French capital itself pulsates with passion, romance, and prestige. The Chantilly commune itself is made famous by the very picturesque Chateau de Chantilly, home of the princes of Condé, who were cousins of the kings of France. Chantilly has given its name to the popular Chantilly cream concocted by a chef of the princes, and the intricate Chantilly lace, a handmade bobbin lace dating from the 17th century.

Fontainebleau

Fontainebleau

Description:

Fontainebleau, one of the largest among the South Forbes Chateaus, is also the most progressive. While it retains the traditional Baroque forms in the exteriors, the chateau's inside is completely redone to reflect more modern tastes. This remarkable contrast between in and out is what makes the design stand out, especially when executed on a monochromatic white-on-white scheme. Inside, the Fontainebleau says “modern” throughout. Straight lines and solid colors dominate the overall design. Instead of the ornate carvings and brass or wooden finery that defines classical French design, chrome, glass, and steel are the preferred elements.
